Dental Insurance in Meridian, ID

Most people know they have dental insurance but not many know what it actually covers until they’re sitting in the chair. Annual maximums, deductibles, and in-network rules can make a simple question like “will this be covered?” feel surprisingly hard to answer. The good news is that understanding your benefits makes a real difference in how confidently you can use them, and having a dental team in your corner to help you navigate them makes the process even simpler.

At SmileWorks Dental in Meridian, Idaho, Dr. Daron Lind and his team have spent more than 17 years helping patients get the most out of their dental benefits. We are in-network with several major insurance carriers in the Ada County area and work hard to make the billing process as transparent and stress-free as possible. Whether you are a new patient figuring out your plan or a returning patient with questions about a specific treatment, we are here to help you navigate every step with clarity and confidence. Insurance Plans We Accept

SmileWorks Dental is in-network with the following major PPO carriers serving Meridian and the greater Ada County area. Our team will verify your benefits before your appointment and walk you through what is covered so there are no surprises.

The insurance plans we currently accept include:

  • Aetna
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield
  • Delta Dental PPO
  • GEHA
  • Humana Dental
  • Medicare Advantage
  • MetLife
  • United Healthcare Dental

If your plan is not listed above, please contact our office and we will be happy to check your specific coverage before your visit.

How Dental Insurance Works

Dental insurance can feel confusing, but most PPO plans share a similar structure once you know what to look for. Plans typically divide services into three tiers: preventive care such as cleanings and checkups, basic restorative care, and major restorative procedures. Preventive services are usually covered at the highest percentage, often 100%, because staying on top of routine care prevents larger and more costly problems down the road.

Most dental plans also include an annual maximum and a deductible. The deductible is the amount you pay out of pocket before coverage kicks in, and the annual maximum is the most your plan will pay within a given year. According to the American Dental Association, many annual maximums have not kept pace with the rising cost of dental care, which is why understanding your benefits ahead of time helps you plan your treatment more strategically throughout the year.

Our team is happy to review your coverage with you before any procedure so you know exactly what to expect financially. Whether you are coming in for a routine cleaning or something more involved like dental implants, we will work with you to maximize your benefits and minimize your out-of-pocket costs wherever possible.

Why Patients Choose Us

No Insurance? We Have You Covered

Not having dental insurance does not mean you have to go without care. SmileWorks Dental offers The Smile Plan, our in-house membership plan designed specifically for patients without insurance coverage. Members receive access to a full range of dental services, including specialty-level care such as root canals, extractions, and implants, all with a membership discount applied. Unlike traditional insurance, The Smile Plan has no claim denials, no annual maximums, and no waiting periods, so your provider can focus entirely on what is best for your health.

We also accept CareCredit financing, which allows patients to spread treatment costs into manageable monthly payments. We believe cost should never be the reason someone avoids the dentist.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does SmileWorks offer cosmetic dentistry services?

Yes! We specialize in making your smile perfect and just how you want it. Our cosmetic services include porcelain veneers, teeth whitening, invisible braces, dental implants, crowns, and bridges.

Dr. Lind recommends bringing your child for a regular dental visit as soon as their first tooth appears, or by their first birthday. Early visits help children get comfortable with dental care and prevent dental anxiety. SmileWorks even offers a fun, no-charge first visit where your child can meet the team, ride in the dental chair, and receive a toothbrush to take home.

Yes, Dr. Lind offers services to treat both TMJ and sleep apnea. He is credentialed with American Sleep Dentistry, which is needed for offering a sleep apnea appliance. He also provides a thorough exam for TMJ during his standard patient exam and offers many services, such as a bite guard, to provide relief.

At SmileWorks, we accept most dental insurance plans. We also accept all major credit cards, cash, checks, and offer interest-free financing through CareCredit.

We also offer our own benefits plan called our “Smile Plan.” This includes 2 exams, 2 cleanings, x-rays, 1 panoramic scan, and cancer screenings.

It is recommended to replace your toothbrush every 3-4 months. Of course, you should replace it earlier if you have been sick or if your toothbrush bristles are worn. Using a worn-out toothbrush can lead to ineffective cleaning, poor dental health issues, and an increase in germs and bacteria in your mouth.
