Most people know they have dental insurance but not many know what it actually covers until they’re sitting in the chair. Annual maximums, deductibles, and in-network rules can make a simple question like “will this be covered?” feel surprisingly hard to answer. The good news is that understanding your benefits makes a real difference in how confidently you can use them, and having a dental team in your corner to help you navigate them makes the process even simpler.
At SmileWorks Dental in Meridian, Idaho, Dr. Daron Lind and his team have spent more than 17 years helping patients get the most out of their dental benefits. We are in-network with several major insurance carriers in the Ada County area and work hard to make the billing process as transparent and stress-free as possible. Whether you are a new patient figuring out your plan or a returning patient with questions about a specific treatment, we are here to help you navigate every step with clarity and confidence. Learn more about the full range of care we offer through our family dentistry services.
A healthier, brighter smile starts now, and we can’t wait to welcome you to SmileWorks Dental.
SmileWorks Dental is in-network with the following major PPO carriers serving Meridian and the greater Ada County area. Being in-network means we have agreed to contracted rates with these carriers, which typically results in lower out-of-pocket costs for you at each visit. Our team will verify your benefits before your appointment and walk you through what is covered so there are no surprises.
The insurance plans we currently accept include:
If your plan is not listed above, please contact our office and we will be happy to check your specific coverage before your visit.
Dental insurance can feel confusing, but most PPO plans share a similar structure once you know what to look for. Plans typically divide services into three tiers: preventive care such as cleanings and checkups, basic restorative care, and major restorative procedures. Preventive services are usually covered at the highest percentage, often 100%, because staying on top of routine care prevents larger and more costly problems down the road.
Most dental plans also include an annual maximum and a deductible. The deductible is the amount you pay out of pocket before coverage kicks in, and the annual maximum is the most your plan will pay within a given year. According to the American Dental Association, many annual maximums have not kept pace with the rising cost of dental care, which is why understanding your benefits ahead of time helps you plan your treatment more strategically throughout the year.
Our team is happy to review your coverage with you before any procedure so you know exactly what to expect financially. Whether you are coming in for a routine cleaning or something more involved like dental implants, we will work with you to maximize your benefits and minimize your out-of-pocket costs wherever possible.
Not having dental insurance does not mean you have to go without care. SmileWorks Dental offers The Smile Plan, our in-house membership plan designed specifically for patients without insurance coverage. Members receive access to a full range of dental services, including specialty-level care such as root canals, extractions, and implants, all with a membership discount applied. Unlike traditional insurance, The Smile Plan has no claim denials, no annual maximums, and no waiting periods, so your provider can focus entirely on what is best for your health.
We also accept CareCredit financing, which allows patients to spread treatment costs into manageable monthly payments. We believe cost should never be the reason someone avoids the dentist.
Yes! We specialize in making your smile perfect and just how you want it. Our cosmetic services include porcelain veneers, teeth whitening, invisible braces, dental implants, crowns, and bridges.
Dr. Lind recommends bringing your child for a regular dental visit as soon as their first tooth appears, or by their first birthday. Early visits help children get comfortable with dental care and prevent dental anxiety. SmileWorks even offers a fun, no-charge first visit where your child can meet the team, ride in the dental chair, and receive a toothbrush to take home.
Yes, Dr. Lind offers services to treat both TMJ and sleep apnea. He is credentialed with American Sleep Dentistry, which is needed for offering a sleep apnea appliance. He also provides a thorough exam for TMJ during his standard patient exam and offers many services, such as a bite guard, to provide relief.
At SmileWorks, we accept most dental insurance plans. We also accept all major credit cards, cash, checks, and offer interest-free financing through CareCredit.
We also offer our own benefits plan called our “Smile Plan.” This includes 2 exams, 2 cleanings, x-rays, 1 panoramic scan, and cancer screenings.
It is recommended to replace your toothbrush every 3-4 months. Of course, you should replace it earlier if you have been sick or if your toothbrush bristles are worn. Using a worn-out toothbrush can lead to ineffective cleaning, poor dental health issues, and an increase in germs and bacteria in your mouth.

He takes his time with patients and explains the process of whatever procedures I’ve had done over the years in detail, answering any questions along the way. His staff and team of oral hygienists are top notch! I’ve typically had cleanings conducted 4 times a year and they always take the time to make small talk and ensure I’m comfortable through the cleaning experience. It’s not just enough to be a competent and professional dentist these days; especially with all the options available. I’ve had plenty of those over the years and the experience falls flat. Dr. Lind’s personalized and attentive approach goes the extra mile beyond professionalism and separates him from the rest of the competition. I’m also in the Army Guard and every year I have to get a dental form filled out for our Soldier Readiness Processing. In the past it was a hassle to get this form filled out and returned to me by other dental offices. I often waited for up to a week to get the form back, but not with SmileWorks! Dr. Lind is on top of it and I’ve typically received the form back the same day. I highly recommend Dr. Lind and SmileWorks for anyone who wants to be treated with the utmost care and attentiveness for all your dental needs. 5-Stars All The Way!!!Posted on Google AmyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. They are always professional, but really did their best to make sure he was comfortable throughout the procedure. Just had some cosmetic procedures done for my 13yr old daughter and they were wonderful!!! Office was beautiful! Staff was happy, smiling and everyone we came in contact with, went out of their way to make sure my girl was comfortable throughout the process. Definitely a lovely experience! I called Smileworks as a referral from a friend. The staff was pleasant and friendly. I was seen quickly and had all of my questions answered. They set up a treatment plan for me and explained the charges along with my insurance payments. This was a great experience for someone who doesn’t like the dentist. I have a second appointment to fix my tooth, build the crown and a filling all in the same day.Posted on Google Armando CostalesTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My 92 yr old mother has been going to Dr Lind and Smileworks for nearly two decades. He and his team are the best dental office she has ever had. They have worked skillfully and tirelessly to preserve her teeth, which have been poor all her life. Smileworks are consummate professionals in all aspects of dentistry, including in the latest advances in technology. Dr Lind even made a house call to my mother’s assisted living facility to ensure her smooth recovery from a procedure. Because of my mother’s experience, my spouse and I became patients when we moved to Idaho six years ago. Same outstanding care and assessments from each of us, with a bonus. My spouse has mild-moderate sleep apnea. Dr Lind is also expert in treating this condition with an oral appliance. Smileworks has mitigated the problem nearly completely, without the misery of a CPAP machine. We are nearly 70, and have lived around the world. Smileworks is the best dentistry team we have ever found. Period. Dr Lind is also a leader and skilled trainer. He has built and maintained a top flight team. Smileworks has an excellent in-house insurance plan. We recommend you take the opportunity to place this important part of your health care in the best hands.
